Napkin foil
A word about our napkin foil. Jori’s napkin foil is used to glue napkins on coloured backgrounds. This way you no longer have to paint your piece of work in a lighter colour first. Like this you can keep e.g. a terracotta flowerpot or a zinc bucket in their beautiful original colour. But a map as well doesn’t have to be made from white paper. The advantages of Jori’s napkin foil listed: Our foil has a white colour, contrary to e.g. Aslan, that was used in the past to make maps with napkins. The disadvantage was that you first had to glue your napkin on Aslan, and afterwards the Aslan on white paper. After this, the napkin + Aslan + white paper were glued on a coloured map. Or you only used white maps. Because we got a bit tired of the white maps and because we found working with Aslan laborious, we have come up with our napkin foil. A second disadvantage of Aslan we thought, was that when you wanted to glue your napkin and you did not glue it right first time, there was no way to get it off again. Those who have already worked with Aslan will know what we mean. So that had to change as well, and this is why our napkin foil only sticks on one side. On the shiny side, you put the napkin glue and you let it dry. On top of it, you put the upper layer of the napkin, coarsely cut or torn. Now you iron, with your iron on the half-warm position, the napkin. It is best to put a kitchen towel or a paper for baking in between napkin and iron: this is to prevent it from sticking. Because of the heath of the iron, the glue will melt again and your napkin will stick nicely. Now you can neatly cut out the napkin-on-foil. Once this is over, you remove the paper backside and you can glue the napkin on any colour of background. The napkin will nicely keep its colour. Jori’s napkin foil can be easily cut with 3d-scissors. Thanks to the plastic foil, you can also cut out very thin pieces (e.g. the stalk of a flower), without tearing the napkin apart. This contrary to e.g. sticker paper. What we also found important: the price. We have sought for something of which the price would also be a lot more advantageous than that of the existing products. Our napkin foil costs € 2,00 for a small roll of over 1,00 metre. We wish you a lot of fun while working with our napkin foil. You can order them by clicking on it in the "orders" section.
